Our Story
Karishma Dahya – Founder of OptiMotion Physiotherapy
Karishma Graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2018 with distinction. During her time at the university she assisted with many sport related events such as on-field physiotherapy management of the UCT rugby team and the Cape Argus cycle tour.
She fulfilled her community service and Tambo Memorial Hospital where she worked in different settings including outpatient therapy , ICU, medical and surgical wards. During this time, she completed courses in sports injury management and strapping.
Karishma worked for a few years in a step down rehabilitation centre where she worked closely with patients with neurological disorders and thereafter she moved into the sports and orthopaedics field. Here she worked at a practice dealing with different musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries and post-operative orthopaedic cases. Karishma has a passion for furthering her knowledge so during that time she completed courses in dry needling, training load management as well as her Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of Witwatersrand with a specialisation in Orthopaedic and Manipulative Therapy.
With her passion for helping patients achieve their optimal function, Karishma opened OptiMotion Physiotherapy in 2024. With the aim of creating a space where patients can be looked at holistically and ensuring each patient receives a treatment plan tailored to meet their unique needs.
As a physiotherapist my goal is to empower you with the knowledge and tools to understand your body, prevent injuries, and enhance your physical capabilities.
In my practice, I focus on a holistic approach that not only addresses pain and injury but also emphasizes overall wellness and injury prevention.
